THE HOLY BIBLE

The material that we use as the Holy Bible was written hundreds and thousands of years ago as a result of personal experience and the guidance of God through the Holy Spirit.  People all over the world are experiencing the same difficulties and temptations you are at this very moment.

The purpose of Gods Word is to teach us how to live properly and how to deal with or solve those problems.  It contains commands for things we are to do.  God created us with a free will, so that we can decide whether we do those things or not.  We are then responsible for the consequences. The Bible contains several commands for things we should not do.  These commands are to protect us from the consequences of those actions, not to keep us from having a good time.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

2 Timothy 3:17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

God wants your attention.  Maybe this period in your life is the burning bush you have been waiting for.  God desires to teach you new things.  Please decide to listen.

Deuteronomy 4:35 "To you it was shown that you might know that the LORD, He is God; there is no other besides Him.

Deuteronomy 4:36 "Out of the heavens He let you hear His voice to discipline you; and on earth He let you see His great fire, and you heard His words from the midst of the fire.

The Bible is fact.  It is not something made up to serve the purpose of the writer.  Sometimes, God has to get our attention before we understand the application of scripture. We do not have the luxury of deciding what we want the truth to be.  Truth is what is.

2 Peter 1:19 So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

2 Peter 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation,

2 Peter 1:21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

The Bible does not promise instant solutions every time we ask for something.  We are promised hope for those solutions.  Learning the Word of God, and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in us provides that hope.

Romans 15:4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Romans 15:5 Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,

Romans 15:6 so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:24 For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?

Romans 8:25 But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

Romans 8:26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;

Romans 8:27 and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:2 For by it the men of old gained approval.

Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.

In order to live as The Bible commands, we must experience a change of heart.  When we repent and allow God to work with us, that change begins to take place.

Psalms 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Psalms 19:8 The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Psalms 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether.

Psalms 19:10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.

Psalms 119:9 b Beth. How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.

Psalms 119:10 With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments.

Psalms 119:11 Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You.

Psalms 119:12 Blessed are You, O LORD; Teach me Your statutes.

Psalms 119:13 With my lips I have told of All the ordinances of Your mouth.

Psalms 119:14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches.

Psalms 119:15 I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways.

Psalms 119:16 I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word.

In order to avoid the sin that results in jail and prison time, we must become strong enough to resist the peer pressure we receive from “old friends” and others and the temptations we encounter.

Ephesians 4:14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;

Ephesians 4:15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,

Ephesians 4:16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love

God doesn’t play games with us.  He knows our heart, regardless of how often we say something different.  The Word gets at the truth quickly and completely.

Hebrews 4:9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

Hebrews 4:10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

Hebrews 4:11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Hebrews 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
