BIBLE STUDY

All people experience personal problems, disappointments and suffering.  God, creator of the universe, sent Jesus to earth to be our savior.  He lived as a man and set the example, both by his teaching and his actions.  In order to benefit from that, we must study the Word of God, and allow the Holy Spirit to teach and guide us.

Jesus says of himself:

Matthew 11:28 "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.

Matthew 11:30 "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

Believing means obedience.

Luke 9:23 And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.

Luke 9:24 "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it.

Luke 9:25 "For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?

The actions that we take are a reflection of what is in our heart.  The things that we say we will do but do not do are a reflection of what is only in our mind.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:17 "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

John 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:19 "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.

John 3:20 "For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

John 3:21 "But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."

Paul says that we must prepare for the consequences of our actions.

2 Corinthians 5:9 Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

2 Corinthians 5:11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.

These Bible studies have been prepared to help you to determine where you are in your relationship with God, to help you identify solutions to some of the basic problems people often face in life and to help you to choose the next step in improving that relationship.

We do not suggest that these studies contain all the answers that you will need.  We encourage you to seek guidance from a local pastor, read the scriptures we present here in context (read the verses before and after those selected, including an entire chapter or an entire story), do personal Bible study at a church or with friends, and do the things the Bible teaches.  We welcome you to contact  us at one of the addresses below with questions, comments, prayer requests and requests for additional studies.  We will post additional studies, or send you more detailed studies relating to the specific situation you describe as our resources allow.
